Howdy! I’m Catherine.

Hi, I’m Catherine Sauer, M.Ed, a high school English teacher and reading specialist from Corpus Christi, Texas. I earned my Master of Education in Reading and Literacy from Texas A&M University, and I’m passionate about helping secondary students become confident, capable readers and writers. I’m currently a doctorate student at TAMU. Whoop!

Before moving to the high school level, I taught 7th and 8th grade in a Title I middle school, where I discovered my calling: helping struggling readers find their footing and rediscover the joy of learning. I believe literacy changes lives, and I’m dedicated to bridging the gap between research and real classroom practice.

Outside of school, I’m a wife and mom who loves spending time with my family. My husband is a Navy veteran, and together we have two amazing teenagers who keep life busy, funny, and full of adventure. Whether we’re at a school event, fishing on the coast, or just hanging out at home, they’re the heart behind everything I do.

Teaching and family are both at the center of my life. Each day reminds me that growth takes patience, compassion, and purpose, values I try to bring into both my classroom and my home.
