Call for Submissions: Sharing Literacy Ideas for Secondary Classrooms

Are you passionate about helping middle or high school students grow as readers and writers? Do you have a strategy, reflection, or classroom success story that could inspire other educators? I’d love to feature your voice.
I’m currently accepting guest submissions from teachers, literacy specialists, and instructional leaders who are passionate about secondary literacy. This includes anything related to:
- Reading and writing strategies that work in grades 6–12
- Structured literacy in secondary settings
- Vocabulary, morphology, and comprehension instruction
- Student engagement and motivation
- English Learner and multilingual supports
- Reading intervention and data-driven instruction
- Cross-curricular literacy connections (science, social studies, CTE, etc.)
You don’t need to be a published writer, just an educator with experience and ideas worth sharing. Posts can be practical, reflective, or research-informed. Articles typically range from 600–1,000 words and should focus on what helps real students succeed in real classrooms.
If you’re interested, please send:
- A short paragraph about your topic or idea
- Your name, teaching role, and school or district (if you’d like it shared)
- Optional: a short author bio or social media link
You can email submissions or pitches to [email protected] with the subject line: “Literacy Submission.”
Let’s grow this space into a supportive community of educators who believe every student, no matter their background or reading level, can become a confident, capable reader and writer.
I can’t wait to read your ideas and feature your work. Together, we can shine a light on what’s possible for adolescent literacy.
Warmly,
Catherine Sauer, M.Ed.
Reading Specialist & English Teacher
